How it works

The Range Detector indicator identifies price ranges by testing if prices within a specified window remain between two extremities. These extremities are calculated using the mean of the detection window and an Average True Range (ATR) value, which helps determine the range's width and sensitivity.

When a new range is detected, the algorithm checks for potential overlaps with previously identified ranges. If an overlap exists, the ranges are merged, dynamically updating the extremities and ensuring a comprehensive view of price consolidation zones.
