How it works

The Stock Watch indicator calculates high and low price ranges across different time windows by using a configurable scope parameter. It scans multiple historical candles to determine the highest high and lowest low prices for each defined time range, such as 1X, 3X, 5X, and 10X periods.

Once the high and low ranges are established, the indicator calculates the current price's percentage position within each range. This percentage is then color-coded using a gradient from red to green, allowing traders to quickly interpret the price's relative position in different historical contexts.

Why it may be useful

This indicator provides traders with a comprehensive and rapid analysis of price positioning across multiple time windows. By visualizing where current price sits within historical ranges, traders can quickly assess potential value opportunities and market trends without extensive manual chart analysis.

The color-coded percentage positioning enables traders to make faster, more informed decisions by instantly recognizing whether a stock is near its historical highs or lows. This approach is particularly valuable for long-term investors seeking to identify potential entry points and understand broader market dynamics.

When to explore it

The Stock Watch indicator is most effective for long-term investors and swing traders who want to analyze price positioning across extended time frames. It works best when applied to stocks with substantial historical price data and when traders are interested in understanding price trends beyond short-term fluctuations.

Traders should use this indicator when evaluating potential investments, comparing multiple stocks simultaneously, and seeking a quick visual representation of price trends. It is particularly useful for value investors looking to identify stocks trading near their historical lows or for momentum traders tracking price movements across different time scales.
