How to evaluate TradingView indicator creators
Compare creators by documentation, transparency and support evidence, rather than unsupported influence or performance rankings.
A creator's popularity is a starting point for research, not a substitute for evaluating a particular script. Judge the publication you plan to use.
Look for observable evidence
- A clear explanation of the calculation and intended use.
- Specific limits, including signal timing and repainting behavior.
- Release notes that explain meaningful changes.
- Answers to concrete user questions.
- Clear access conditions and documentation for alerts.
Check who authored the exact script; similar names and adaptations can make attribution confusing. DeepAlpha's creator links help narrow the catalog, but recovered metadata may need verification.
Before paying for access
Ask what is included, how cancellation works and whether a trial or documentation is available. TradingView says invite-only access must be obtained from the author; it is not included automatically with a TradingView plan. See its invite-only access guidance.
This replaces the archive's unsupported “most influential” ranking. We have not audited creators' trading performance or established that paid scripts outperform free alternatives.
