Which TradingView indicator is best for day trading?
Choose indicators by their job: price context, momentum or volatility. Build a small research setup and test it on your own market.
There is no single best TradingView indicator for every day trader. Start with the information you need, then test whether a tool adds it consistently on your market and timeframe.
Choose a job before a script
- Price context: a session VWAP can provide a volume-weighted reference.
- Momentum: RSI summarizes recent gains and losses.
- Volatility: ATR describes movement size rather than direction.
These are different measurements, not a ready-made strategy. TradingView documents the calculations for VWAP, RSI and ATR.
A simple research example
Suppose your question is whether a price move is unusually large relative to recent movement. Start by studying ATR on one symbol and timeframe. Adding three momentum tools would not directly answer that question.
If your question instead concerns price relative to a session's traded volume, investigate VWAP and its session settings. Check that your market supplies meaningful volume data.
What about one-minute charts?
A shorter chart interval is not evidence that a faster indicator is better. Specify when a signal counts, how long you would hold it and how costs affect the experiment. Do not choose settings solely because they fit yesterday's chart.
Build a small shortlist
- Choose one symbol, session and research question.
- Pick one tool for the missing information.
- Record every qualifying observation with unchanged settings.
- Compare with a simpler baseline on a later sample.
There is no reliable “100% accurate” indicator. Popularity and paid access do not establish trading results.
