How it works

The Bounce Zone indicator starts by calculating a 20-period Simple Moving Average (SMA) of trading volume to establish a baseline volume level. It then scans for sequences of at least six consecutive candles where volume remains below this SMA, focusing specifically on candles with consistent color (all green or all red).

When a valid volume sequence is detected, the indicator generates potential bounce zones by drawing horizontal lines at strategic price points. For green candle sequences, it marks a line at the low of the last red candle before the sequence, while red candle sequences trigger a line at the high of the last green candle preceding the sequence.

Why it may be useful

The Bounce Zone indicator provides traders with a sophisticated method of identifying potential market reversal points by combining volume analysis with price structure. By highlighting areas of potential price exhaustion, it helps traders recognize zones where market momentum might shift, offering insights into possible entry or exit points.

This approach allows traders to visualize liquidity zones where institutional traders might be active, providing a more nuanced understanding of market dynamics beyond traditional price action analysis. The indicator's ability to track and automatically remove zones after two price touches ensures that traders focus on the most relevant and current market information.

When to explore it

The Bounce Zone indicator is most effective in markets exhibiting clear directional trends with recognizable volume patterns. It works particularly well in liquid markets where volume data provides meaningful insights, such as major forex pairs, stock indices, and prominent cryptocurrency pairs.

Traders should use this indicator in conjunction with other technical analysis tools to confirm potential reversal signals. It is especially valuable during periods of consolidation or when price appears to be losing momentum, helping traders identify potential turning points in both trending and range-bound market conditions.
