How it works

The USDT Volume indicator calculates money flow by first determining the typical price of each bar as the average of open, high, low, and close prices. It then multiplies this typical price by the bar's volume to generate a 'Money' value, which represents the dollar or USDT flow during that specific trading period.

To enhance readability, the script dynamically adjusts the units based on recent data, examining the highest Money value over the past 100 bars. It applies scaling factors to convert values, transforming amounts over 1 billion to 'B', over 1 million to 'M', and over 1,000 to 'K', ensuring the visualization remains clear and comprehensible.

Why it may be useful

This volume-weighted indicator provides traders with a nuanced understanding of market activity by translating raw volume into a monetary representation. By converting volume into a dollar-equivalent metric, it offers insights into the actual economic significance of trading activity beyond simple volume numbers.

The dynamic scaling mechanism allows traders to quickly grasp market intensity across different timeframes and market conditions. Green and red color coding further enhances visual interpretation, helping traders rapidly identify bullish and bearish volume trends and make more informed trading decisions.

When to explore it

The USDT Volume indicator is most effective in markets with significant liquidity and consistent trading volume, such as major cryptocurrency pairs or liquid stock markets. It works best when traders want to understand the real economic weight behind price movements, offering a more comprehensive view of market participation.

Traders should use this indicator during periods of potential trend changes, breakouts, or when evaluating the strength of a current price move. It is particularly useful for short-term strategies like scalping and day trading, where understanding immediate market flow can provide critical insights into potential price momentum.
