How it works

The indicator uses a modified Supertrend logic to establish a directional anchor and then applies an exponential growth function to simulate trend acceleration over time. It calculates a base trend line that expands exponentially based on elapsed bars, creating a non-linear curve that strengthens as the trend persists.

A secondary volatility band is plotted alongside the base trend line, using Average True Range (ATR) to create a dynamic support and resistance zone. The trend line resets only when the market direction changes, preserving trend memory and helping to avoid frequent whipsaws in market movements.

Why it may be useful

This adaptive trend system provides traders with a more nuanced view of market momentum by showing not just trend direction, but also its strength and potential persistence. Unlike traditional moving averages, it offers a dynamic representation that evolves with market conditions, helping traders identify early trend stages and potential reversal points.

The volatility-adjusted extension adds an additional layer of insight by visualizing risk zones and potential entry or exit points. By combining exponential trend logic with volatility analysis, traders can make more informed decisions about trend strength, market conditions, and potential trade opportunities.

When to explore it

The indicator is most effective in markets with clear, sustained trending conditions, where price moves consistently in one direction for extended periods. It works particularly well in assets with smooth, directional price action such as major forex pairs, blue-chip stocks, and certain commodities that exhibit strong momentum characteristics.

Traders should be cautious when using this tool in choppy, range-bound markets where trends frequently reverse. It is most valuable when combined with other confirmation indicators and used across multiple timeframes to validate the trend signals and reduce the risk of false breakouts.
