How it works

The strategy calculates Fibonacci retracement levels using the highest high and lowest low over a 365-day period, identifying key support and resistance zones. These levels are then combined with the 100-period and 200-period Simple Moving Averages (SMAs) to define the market trend and potential entry points.

Buy signals are generated when the price is above the 200 SMA and retraces to the 61.8% Fibonacci level, while sell signals occur when the price is below the 200 SMA and retraces to the 38.2% Fibonacci level. This approach provides a systematic method for identifying potential trend reversals and market retracements.

Why it may be useful

Fibonacci retracement levels are crucial because they represent key psychological price zones where traders often expect potential reversals or continuation of trends. By combining these levels with moving averages, traders can create a more robust and reliable trading strategy that filters out market noise and focuses on significant price movements.

The strategy provides a structured approach to identifying high-probability trade setups, helping traders make more informed decisions about market entry and exit points. It offers a systematic method to align trades with the broader market trend, reducing the risk of trading against the primary price direction.

When to explore it

This strategy is most effective for long-term swing trades in stocks and major cryptocurrencies, particularly when used on the daily timeframe. It works best in markets with clear trend characteristics, where price tends to respect Fibonacci retracement levels and moving average trends.

Traders should apply this strategy in markets with sufficient liquidity and trending behavior, such as major stock indices, blue-chip stocks, or large-cap cryptocurrencies. It is particularly useful during periods of sustained market trends, where price movements are more predictable and follow more consistent patterns.
