How it works

The Percent Trend Change indicator uses John Ehlers' Ultimate Smoother filter to detect trend direction by analyzing price movements over five consecutive bars. When the smoothed line rises five times in a row, it identifies an uptrend, and when it falls five times consecutively, it identifies a downtrend.

The indicator marks trend entry points with colored triangles and plots percentage change labels at specified intervals. These labels show the percentage change from the entry point, color-coded to indicate positive or negative movement within the current trend.
