How it works

The indicator calculates pivot points (R1, S1) from previous higher-timeframe bars, creating reference levels for potential breakouts and breakdowns. Traders place buy stop orders just above R1 and sell stop orders just below S1 to capture momentum shifts.

Simultaneously, the Money Flow Index (MFI) controls candlestick opacity, providing a visual representation of buying and selling pressure. Higher MFI readings result in more opaque candles, indicating strong momentum, while lower readings create more transparent candles, suggesting reduced market enthusiasm.

Why it may be useful

This indicator provides traders with a systematic approach to market entry and position management, transforming subjective trading decisions into more objective, rule-based strategies. By combining pivot levels with MFI momentum signals, traders can develop more disciplined and potentially more profitable trading approaches.

The visual opacity feature allows traders to quickly assess market momentum without constantly referencing separate indicators. This integrated approach helps traders make more informed decisions about entries, pyramiding positions, and taking profits based on both price levels and underlying market dynamics.

When to explore it

The indicator works best in trending markets with clear directional movement, where pivot levels can effectively capture breakout and breakdown opportunities. It is particularly useful in markets with consistent volatility, where price regularly tests and breaks support and resistance levels.

Traders should apply this method in liquid markets with sufficient price movement, such as major forex pairs, stock indices, and actively traded commodities. The strategy is most effective when combined with additional confirmation signals and proper risk management techniques.
