How it works

The indicator plots two Simple Moving Averages (SMA 20 and SMA 200) alongside the Volume-Weighted Average Price (VWAP) on the price chart. It analyzes each candle's relationship to these key market levels, looking for specific price action conditions that indicate potential trend shifts.

For buy signals, the system requires a green bullish candle to close entirely above the SMA 20, SMA 200, and VWAP without touching these levels. Similarly, sell signals occur when a candle closes below all three indicators without touching them. To prevent signal overload, only the first qualifying candle of the day triggers a signal.

Why it may be useful

This indicator provides traders with a multi-layered approach to identifying potential market entry and exit points by combining multiple trend-tracking tools. By integrating moving averages and VWAP, it offers a comprehensive view of price momentum and market sentiment that goes beyond simple single-indicator analysis.

The first-candle-only signal approach helps traders focus on the most significant potential trend changes, reducing market noise and providing clearer, more actionable trading information. Its customizable nature allows traders to adapt the indicator to their specific trading style and preferences.

When to explore it

The indicator is most effective in markets with clear directional movements and consistent volume, such as actively traded stocks, forex pairs, and liquid cryptocurrency markets. It works best during periods of stable market conditions where price trends can be more reliably identified by moving averages and volume-weighted pricing.

Traders should prioritize using this signal during regular trading hours when market liquidity is highest and price movements are most predictable. It is particularly useful for day traders and scalpers who require quick, precise entry and exit signals based on multiple technical indicators.
