How to add a custom indicator to TradingView
Add a community script, troubleshoot invite-only access or start with your own Pine Script, with links to the original instructions.
The simplest way to add a community indicator is to open its original TradingView publication and choose Use on chart. First check the title and creator so you add the intended version.
Add a community script
- Open the indicator's DeepAlpha research page.
- Select Open on TradingView.
- Read the creator's description, settings and limitations.
- Choose Use on chart on the publication.
- Check the symbol, timeframe and inputs on your chart.
TradingView's community-script instructions show this flow. Adding the script does not confirm that it is suitable for your trading rules.
Why is the button unavailable?
An invite-only publication needs author permission. A paid TradingView plan does not automatically unlock it. Follow the creator's access instructions and use the TradingView username associated with your account. See TradingView's explanation of invite-only access.
DeepAlpha links to publications; it does not grant access, sell the creator's script or bypass restrictions.
What if you have Pine Script code?
Use the Pine Editor to create and save your own script, then add it to a chart. Start with TradingView's first-indicator tutorial and match the code's language version to the documentation. Review code and its license before adapting or republishing it.
Check it before relying on it
Confirm what each plot means, whether signals change before candle close and which alerts are available. Similar-looking scripts can behave differently.
