UNDERSTAND THE TOOL

How it works

The Prometheus Trend Lines tool automatically generates support and resistance lines using a lookback period methodology. For resistance lines, it identifies the highest high within a specified period (default 50 bars) as the first point and the current bar's high as the second point. Support lines work similarly, using the lowest low and current bar's low.

The tool ensures lines are plotted only after a complete lookback period has passed, creating stability and preventing frequent line changes. Each line spans 50 bars and is drawn using the shortest path between the two points, allowing traders to visualize potential price breaks and trend strength more effectively.

Why it may be useful

Trend lines are crucial for understanding market dynamics and potential price movements. By automatically identifying key support and resistance levels, traders can gain insights into potential trend reversals, breakout opportunities, and market sentiment without manual plotting.

The Prometheus Trend Lines tool simplifies technical analysis by providing objective, data-driven trend line identification. It helps traders make more informed decisions by highlighting potential price barriers and momentum shifts, reducing emotional trading and providing a structured approach to market analysis.

When to explore it

Prometheus Trend Lines are most effective in markets with clear directional movements and defined trend patterns. They work well across various timeframes, from intraday to swing trading, helping traders identify potential entry and exit points during trending market conditions.

The tool is particularly useful during periods of consolidation or when price is approaching known support and resistance levels. Traders should combine these trend lines with other technical indicators and fundamental analysis to increase the probability of successful trading decisions.
