How it works

The Push and Exhaustion Strategy Indicator generates signals based on specific price movement thresholds relative to previous closing prices. A push signal occurs when the current closing price is at least 1.5 times the previous closing price and above the VWAP, marked by a green triangle above the price bar.

An exhaustion signal is triggered when the current closing price drops to 0.7 times or less than the previous closing price and falls below the VWAP, indicated by a red triangle below the price bar. The indicator simultaneously plots 50-period and 200-period moving averages to provide additional trend context.

Why it may be useful

This indicator helps traders identify potential market turning points by highlighting significant price movements and momentum shifts. By combining multiple technical analysis elements like push and exhaustion signals, moving averages, and VWAP, traders gain a comprehensive view of market dynamics.

The multi-layered approach allows traders to assess not just price movement, but also the strength and potential sustainability of those movements. This comprehensive analysis helps traders make more informed decisions about entry, exit, and potential trend reversals.

When to explore it

The Push and Exhaustion Strategy Indicator is most effective in markets with clear directional movements and sufficient trading volume. It works well in both trending and potentially reversing market conditions, providing signals that can help traders identify momentum and potential trend changes.

Traders should use this indicator in conjunction with other technical and fundamental analysis tools to confirm signals and reduce false positives. It is particularly useful for traders seeking to capture short-to-medium-term price movements across various financial instruments and timeframes.
