How it works

The script analyzes five different exponential moving averages (EMAs) at 8, 21, 34, 55, and 89 periods to determine their relative positioning. When shorter-term EMAs are above longer-term EMAs in ascending order, a green circle is plotted, indicating a potentially bullish trend configuration.

Conversely, when the EMAs are stacked in a descending manner with longer-term EMAs above shorter-term EMAs, a red circle is displayed, signaling a potentially bearish trend configuration. If the EMAs are not clearly stacked in either a positive or negative manner, a gray circle is shown, suggesting a neutral or transitional market state.

Why it may be useful

Exponential moving average stacking provides traders with a quick visual representation of underlying market momentum and trend strength. By observing the relative positioning of multiple EMAs, traders can rapidly assess the current market sentiment without extensively analyzing complex charts.

This approach offers a simplified method to confirm trend direction and potential entry or exit points, particularly when used in conjunction with other technical indicators like the Squeeze Pro. The color-coded circles make it easy for traders to quickly interpret market conditions across different timeframes.

When to explore it

The EMA stacking indicator is most effective in trending markets where clear directional movement is present. It works particularly well for traders seeking to confirm trend strength and potential entry points in various financial instruments and timeframes.

Traders should use this signal in combination with other technical analysis tools to validate trading decisions. It is especially useful for momentum traders who want a quick visual representation of market trend alignment, helping to filter out potential false signals and improve overall trading strategy.
