How it works

The FVG w/ Fibs indicator identifies market gaps by comparing current bar's highs and lows with previous bars' price action. It detects bullish FVGs when the current bar's low is higher than two bars ago's high, and bearish FVGs when the current bar's high is lower than two bars ago's low.

Once an FVG is identified, the indicator dynamically draws customizable boxes and calculates Fibonacci retracement levels at 50% and 61.8%. These visual elements help traders understand potential price movement zones and provide real-time tracking of market structure and potential reversal points.

Why it may be useful

Fair Value Gaps represent market inefficiencies where price moves quickly, leaving unfilled space that often acts as a magnet for future price action. By identifying these gaps, traders can gain insights into potential market movements and areas of potential support or resistance.

The addition of Fibonacci retracement levels provides an extra layer of technical analysis, helping traders understand potential price reversal zones and offering more precise entry and exit points. This multi-dimensional approach enhances traders' ability to make informed decisions by combining gap analysis with established mathematical retracement principles.

When to explore it

The FVG w/ Fibs indicator is most effective in markets with clear directional movements and sufficient liquidity, such as major forex pairs, stock indices, and cryptocurrency markets. It works best during periods of moderate to high volatility where price can move quickly and create identifiable gaps.

Traders should use this indicator in conjunction with other technical and fundamental analysis tools to confirm signals and reduce false positives. It is particularly useful for traders seeking to identify potential trend reversals, momentum shifts, and areas of price inefficiency across different timeframes.
