How it works

The indicator calculates liquidation prices by analyzing significant changes in position trading volume compared to a 60-day moving average benchmark. When trading volume increases or decreases more than 1.2x, 2x, or 3x its MA60 value, it identifies potential liquidation zones. By taking an approximate average of high, open, low, and close prices, the indicator generates estimated settlement prices for different leverage ratios.

The liquidation lines are created for five different leverage levels: 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x, and 100x. These lines represent potential points where long and short contract positions might be automatically closed due to significant price movements, providing traders with insights into potential liquidity zones.

Why it may be useful

This indicator helps traders understand potential market liquidity and identify areas where large numbers of contracts might be simultaneously liquidated. By visualizing estimated liquidation prices across different leverage levels, traders can gain insights into potential market pressure points and anticipate potential price movements.

The density histogram further enhances traders' understanding by displaying liquidation density across various price ranges. This information can be crucial for making strategic trading decisions, managing risk, and anticipating potential market volatility during periods of high contract liquidation.

When to explore it

This indicator is most effective in volatile derivatives markets with significant contract trading, particularly in cryptocurrency and futures markets. Traders should use it when analyzing markets with high leverage and complex trading dynamics, where understanding potential liquidation zones can provide a strategic advantage.

The signal works best during periods of significant market movement, when the probability of contract liquidations is higher. Traders can use this indicator to identify potential support and resistance levels, adjust their trading strategies, and prepare for potential rapid market movements triggered by large-scale liquidations.
