How it works

This trading signal works by analyzing historical price data across different timeframe resolutions including daily, weekly, and monthly charts. It establishes a lookback window where traders can specify the number of periods to examine, typically 250 days, 50 weeks, or 12 months depending on the selected resolution.

The signal then generates multiple range lines representing different levels of price movement: gray lines for the 30th biggest range, blue lines for the 10th biggest range, and pink lines for the 3rd biggest range. These lines help traders visualize significant historical price movements and potential support/resistance levels within the chosen timeframe.

Why it may be useful

This signal provides traders with a comprehensive view of historical price volatility and movement patterns across multiple timeframes. By understanding the range of historical price movements, traders can develop more informed trading strategies and anticipate potential market behavior.

The multi-layered approach allows traders to identify key support and resistance levels, understand market volatility, and make more precise entry and exit decisions. By revealing historical price ranges, the signal helps traders contextualize current market conditions and potential future price movements.

When to explore it

This signal is most effective when used on higher timeframe charts, with specific recommendations based on trading platform access. For TradingView Premium users, it works best on 5-minute charts and higher for daily analysis, 15-minute charts for weekly analysis, and daily charts for monthly analysis.

Non-premium users should use 15-minute charts for daily analysis, 30-minute charts for weekly analysis, and daily charts for monthly analysis. Traders should be cautious about using extremely long lookback windows, as this might distort the range calculations and potentially reduce the signal's accuracy.
