How it works

The indicator uses a Kalman Filter to track trend direction, dynamically plotting a green or red line to represent uptrends or downtrends. When the line changes color, it signals a potential trend reversal. The Average Directional Index (ADX) is simultaneously used to measure trend strength, with an orange line and a blue threshold line at 20.

Traders receive buy signals when the Kalman line turns green and ADX is above the threshold, indicating a strong uptrend. Conversely, sell signals occur when the Kalman line turns red and ADX confirms strong downward momentum. The indicator provides clear visual cues for potential entry and exit points.

Why it may be useful

This indicator helps traders navigate market trends by providing a systematic approach to identifying trend strength and potential reversals. By combining the Kalman Filter's adaptive trend tracking with ADX's momentum measurement, traders can make more informed decisions about market direction.

The signal reduces emotional trading by offering objective, data-driven entry and exit points. It helps traders avoid weak or ranging markets by requiring a minimum ADX threshold, thus focusing on trades with higher probability of success and potentially improving overall trading performance.

When to explore it

The indicator is most effective on 5-minute timeframes for intraday trading, particularly with liquid assets like Bank Nifty, Nifty 50, and large-cap stocks. It works best in trending markets with clear directional momentum, where ADX values are consistently above the 20 threshold.

Traders should avoid using this signal in ranging or low-volatility markets where ADX falls below the threshold. It is recommended to combine this indicator with volume analysis and support/resistance levels for additional confirmation and to enhance trading decisions.
