How it works

The indicator first calculates the Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) for the day, plotting an orange line that represents the average price weighted by trading volume. It determines bullish and bearish zones based on price position relative to VWAP.

Additionally, the indicator analyzes volume by calculating the average volume over the last 20 candles and detecting volume spikes that are 1.5 times the average. When a volume spike occurs, it plots a red triangle under the candle to indicate significant momentum. It also checks for breakouts by monitoring price movements above the last 10-bar high or below the last 10-bar low.

Why it may be useful

The VWAP indicator provides traders with a dynamic reference point for understanding market sentiment and price action throughout the trading day. By showing whether price is trading above or below the volume-weighted average, it offers insights into potential trend strength and market dynamics.

The volume spike and breakout confirmation features add additional layers of validation to trading decisions. They help traders distinguish between meaningful price movements and potential false breakouts, providing more confidence in entry and exit points by confirming momentum and trend reliability.

When to explore it

This indicator is most effective during active trading sessions with significant price movement and volume, particularly in day trading and scalping scenarios. It works best in liquid markets where volume data provides meaningful insights into price action.

Traders should use this indicator when seeking confirmation of trend direction, momentum, and potential breakout opportunities. It is particularly useful in volatile markets where quick, informed decisions can lead to profitable trades, especially when combined with other technical analysis tools and market context.
