How it works

The script tracks price changes for both the selected asset and Bitcoin over a specified number of candles, calculating cumulative percentage increases and decreases. For bullish movements, it divides the current symbol's cumulative up ratio by Bitcoin's up ratio, creating a comparative leverage metric.

Similarly, for bearish movements, it compares the cumulative down ratios, providing a comprehensive view of relative market performance. By default, the tool uses BINANCE:BTCUSDT as the comparison symbol, but traders can customize the reference asset. The calculation generates two lines on the chart - a green line representing bullish movement ratios and a red line showing bearish movement ratios, with a zero baseline for easy reference.

Why it may be useful

This tool provides traders with a sophisticated method of understanding an asset's performance relative to Bitcoin, a critical benchmark in cryptocurrency markets. By revealing the implied leverage of different assets, it helps investors identify which securities are outperforming or underperforming the market leader, offering insights into potential investment strategies.

The comparative analysis allows traders to make more informed decisions about asset allocation, risk management, and potential trading opportunities. Understanding how different assets move in relation to Bitcoin can help investors identify emerging trends, assess market sentiment, and develop more nuanced trading approaches across various market conditions.

When to explore it

This signal is most effective during periods of significant market movement, particularly in cryptocurrency and altcoin markets where Bitcoin often serves as a primary reference point. Traders can use this tool when evaluating potential investments, comparing different assets' performance, or seeking to understand relative market dynamics during trending or volatile periods.

The indicator is particularly useful for traders looking to diversify their portfolio, identify assets with higher potential returns, or understand complex market correlations. It can help in making strategic decisions about which assets might provide better leverage or more interesting trading opportunities compared to the broader market benchmark.
